Maheen is a foreign qualified integrative therapist based in D.H.A, Lahore. She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling from Abertay University, Scotland. She is experienced with face-to-face and online counselling mediums, as well as in conducting academic mental health research. Before moving to Pakistan, she was involved in counselling training.
Maheen is passionate about empowering people through therapy. She believes that different therapeutic interventions work for different people, therefore it is important to tailor therapy to each client’s goals, preferences and worldviews. She works hard to cultivate a collaborative relationship with her clients, and frequently builds in opportunities for feedback.
Maheen works with individuals between the ages of 16 – 50 on a one-to-one basis and has experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, life transitions and self-esteem. In her work she draws on person-centred, psychodynamic and solution focused theories. Her previous work experience in teaching has helped her recognize the need to use diverse tools to communicate with her clients, including worksheets, methodology cards, and sand trays. She is keenly interested in the implications of gender and culture on mental health.
